As Promised!

Here is a photo of my Blue Moon Socks That Rock kit. The colorway is called Fairgrounds and the sock pattern is called Rock and Weave. I will post a picture later of my sock progression and the pattern itself. Just an FYI Blue Moon has updated their Website with new colorways, sock kits and a new book. I bought the book and a few skeins of yarn, Lemongrass and Farmhouse.

I bought some roving and did some spinning the weekend. I was totally bored with spinning the blue stuff for my shawl. I forgot what is was. Anyways I bought some Merino Wool in a pretty yellow and teal for some socks or something small like a hat. The Merino is such a dream to spin.

In case your wondering about the bird. He or she visits my house everyday to peck on the window. It was cute at first, but now it is not so cute when it is pecking at 5:00 am. I wonder if it wants me to feed it?

Oh well, knit and spin on!

I am still here!

It has been awhile since my last post. So, I guess I will just jump in and tell you what has been going on. Well, I am officially over my Knitter’s Block. I have started a few projects and have many planned for the future. Currently, I am working on Bombshell from Big Girl Knits which is a good book by the way. I am using Lorna’s Lace Lion and Lamb which I bought at the Lorna’s Lace sale and tour. The sale and tour was a lot of fun. I got the Lion and Lamb for just about half of what you would pay for it retail and a few skeins of sock yarn. I am really into knitting socks at the moment. I started knitting my daughter a pair of socks using Regia cotton yarn which I really like a lot. My daughter was previously banned from me knitting her socks as she said they were itchy. I used Socks That Rock by Blue Moon Fiber Arts how could they be itchy. In any event, she wore them in a pinch and loved them so much so she walked down the street with her pant leg up tell the neighbors I knit her these sock. Well, what could a proud mother do but knit her more and the fact she needs to give the Socks that Rock pair a break. I unnecessarily put that reference to Socks That Rock in so I could let you all know that I am in the Socks That Rock sock of the month, well every other month club. The club was previously closed but they did let 200 more members in and I happened to be one of the lucky ones. I will post about my first kit when I get it.
Well, I guess that is it. Haven’t been doing much spinning I am going designate Wednesday and Saturday as spinning days to keep me on track. Spring is here so I am going to try my hand at dyeing. We will see how that goes. Oh yes, in addition to Bombshell, I plan on knitting Lift and Separate also from Big Girl Knits. I bought the yarn from Elann. It is an Alpaca mix. Well, I guess that is really it. I thought I had more to write about I guess not.

Until next time knit and spin on!
