Knitting Away!

I am still knitting away on my Olympic sweater. I have knitted 18 inches and will begin on the patterned section soon. I want to get the both sleeves knitted first.

Day One!

I casted on my sweater while watching opening Ceremonies. I knit about two inches of the ribbing. I did my swatching prior to opening ceremonies because if I recall correctly that was considered training. I am knitting 5 stitches to the inch. I decided to knit the sweater using EZ percentage system. I ran into some problems. I won't bore you with the details. But decided that would be my best option to getting the correct size. I have learned my lesson a few times on the importance of gauge.

I must say I was super tired and perhaps drinking two beers didn't help either. I ended up falling asleep and was not able to see the end of the ceremonies. I did have a chance to see the athletes walking holding their flags towards the end. I love the outfits the French, British and Danish wore. Some of the other countries were very bright. I tried my hardiest to stay awake for the United States and Norway. I couldn't make though. How did they look by the way. I felt really sorry of the teammates from the country of Georgia. You really could see their pain which is very understandable. Overall I though the ceremony was nice but long.

Well, I will post some pictures of my progress over the next couple of days.

Take Care
