Winter Olympics!

I decided to knit a Dale of Norway Sweater during the Winter Olympics for my husband. He really likes the look of the Dale of Norway sweaters however, to buy them retail from the company you are going to spend $200.00 and up. So, I decided I would test the waters with this simple sweater and knit one.

I am going to use Knitpicks Telemark as it isn't too expense just in case, of what I am not sure at this time.

I haven't decide if I am going to officially sign up on Raverly, but we will see. What are your knitting plans if any during the Winter Olympics!

Socks

I have been really into knitting socks these days. I tried knitting socks a few years ago but gave up because they always ended up ill fitting and I didn't like knitting those complicated sock patterns. I felt it was way too much work. Fast forward a few years and now I love knitting socks well kinda. I like knitting plain Jane Socks or Sock Patterns that are easy to remember the pattern like the Jaywalker.
(Jaywalker knitted in KnitPicks Sock Yarn)
But really I like the plain Janes best.
(Plain Jane knitted in Socks That Rock )
And, I solved my ill fitting sock problem (mainly them being too big ) by casting on less stitches a ( heck of a lot of less stitches). I guess gauge is really important.

Happy Monday, I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I did. The family and I went to the movies and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks II. We had a lot fun and of course loaded up on popcorn and junk.

I did some spinning this weekend, some lovely alpaca I had lying around.

It was a dream to spin and knit with. I spun it as a single. I have no patience for plying. I am planning on making a yet another shawl.

Speaking of alpaca and shawl, here is my completed project I blogged about a while back. It came out pretty good. I didn't spin the yarn but the pattern is mine. This was the best picture I
could get. Now you know if this is my best picture than you can only imagine the others. Plus, it was hot as heck.

Well, that is all for now!

Happy Friday!

I am glad today is Friday. The week was kinda long for me. I was sick with a cold and mother nature paid me a visit. I wasn't to enthusiast about blogging this week. I am feeling better now! I will defiantly post a ton of finished projects within the next few days. And, reveal want I am planning on knitting for the Knitting Olympics too.

Finally, I watched Grey's Anatomy last night. OMG it was really good. I never really got into the whole Grey's, Lost, and CSI shows. I am more into SCFi, Scrubs, Bravo, History Channel type shows. Let me tell you , I may be hooked on Grey's.

Have a nice weekend!

What I'm Longing for Right Now!

I hope you all had a nice weekend. The weekends sure fly by don't they? I am really missing Spring right now. I can't wait to start my planting.

And, I am missing the cute frogs. We get a ton of those. We found a turtle last spring. I wonder if he or she will come back to visit.

Well, I got a lot done this past week. I managed to finish sewing two handbags, a pair of socks and a knitted shawlette. I will post pictures through out the week on these finished items.

I decided this week would be a spinning week. I have a ton of roving to spin. I decided that for this year, each week I would focus on main interest outside of knitting each week. I love to knit, crochet, weave, sew and spin. With that many loves its is hard to get to everything in a week and of course things lack. And, I feel like I am cheating on the other things. So, hopefully by doing this I will be more productive. We will see.

How do you all manage time for all of you interest.

Fun Fur Fabulous!

Well, I completed my Fun Fur and Cotton Ease woven scarf.

It is not too bad actually. My husband said it was different and I am ok with that. I wear it with my brown puffer jacket, so the sparkly bits pop and add some color to the brown.

I will probably warp for a new scarf at the end of this week. I will be sewing a few things this week so there is no time for weaving. My daughter has requested a purse, I want a Frenchyhttp://www.amybutlerdesign.com/products/patterns_top.php Tote and a few sock bags. I am really into knitting socks at the moment so, I need a few bags as I knit two socks at a time and this helps to prevent second sock syndrome.
