Just a Few Bits and Things.

Here are a few photos of things that have been keeping me busy this week.

I casted on this hat for my son last Saturday and finished it up on Friday. It was fun to knit. Now my daughter wants me to knit one for her in a purple theme.

In addition, I am finally knitting a scarf for my aunt in California. She sent the yarn to me to knit. It is a boucle for Lion Brand. It wouldn't have been my first choice but she liked it. I decided to knit it double strand on size 35 needle in Garter stitch so it would knit up fast. It really looks nice to be honest with you. Knitting it on the larger needle gives it a drapey affect.

To go on, I made yet another knitting bag. It is cute but it is not big enough for the project I had intended it for. My husband has finally given me his blessing to knit him a Fair Isle vest, and the bag was going to be used for the Fair Isle Vest. So, I decided to buy a bag from Schoolhouse Press with a quote from Elizabeth Zimmerman on front. I need all the encouragement I can get to finish a wearable vest. I will post pictures later of the bag and yarn when I get it in the mail.

So, I decided to use the bag for some socks I am making for me. I am using Socks that Rock Blarney Stone.

Finally, I am spinning some pencil roving I bought when I first learned to spin. I bought a ton of that stuff being naive to fiber. I am going to make a vest with it. I hope it comes out ok.

Well, I guess that is it.

Happy Knitting and Spinning!

This is going to be a really short post as I am so tired. So here we go!

I finally finished my handspun shawl. It has been done for awhile. The truth be told, I am just getting around to weaving in the ends. It still needs to be blocked but I just haven't gotten around to it. In addition, I finished my daughter's socks. I used Lorna's Lace and of course I don't know the colorway. If someone really wants to know the colorways leave me a comment and I will post it later.

I started spinning my hand dyed roving. I am thiniking of spinning the roving into singles because I am not liking the way it looks plyed. Well, to be honest I am not sure yet. I need to knit the plyed and the singles and make my final choice. I will post photos later to see what you all think.

Finally, I made another knitting bag. I just love them. I can sew them up in about an hour. They are great because they stay open on their own and they are just pretty.

Well, I guess that is it. So goodnight and happy knitting and spinning

Quick Update!

Well, I have been really crazy busy with the kids and all now that school has started. But, did manage to finish one of the mittens. Not bad, it is my very first one. The second mitten is still in progress. In addition, I still need to block the Fair Isle Vest. The photo in the previous post doesn't really show how pretty it is. So, I will retake it. I started knitting a shawl with the Alpaca I spun a few weeks back I will post pictures later of the progress.
Last but not least, I have been bitten by the sewing bug so I made this cute little bag. It took me a about two hours to make. Nothing fancy but it is cute for small projects. I plan on making a few more. I love using soft fabric bags for knitting in the house. They are nice because I can also stuff them in a diaper bag. These days it is hard to use my Jordana Paige bags with having so much stuff with the kids whenI am on the go.

I guess that is it. I just bought Xmen 3 on dvd so I am off to watch it.

Happy Knitting and Spinning.
