Happy Easter
It has been awhile since my last post. I have been knitting and spinning along as usual. I finally received my Rockin Sock Club kit the second week in March. It was a bit of a run around to finally receive it. Apparently, the first shipment was lost in the mail and couldn’t be tracked. So a second one was shipped out and I received it like three days later. I liked the colorway and have decided to knit the socks for my husband. Monsoon which is the colorway seemed masculine and perfect for a man with dark green, grey, and blue coloring. Hopefully, my next Rockin Sock kit will arrive on time so there won’t be any spoilage prior to receiving the kit.
In other news, I am still knitting away on the Swallowtail Shawl from Interweave knits. Every thing was going fine until I realized I missed read the chart and knitted the damn thing in Garter stitch half way through. Live and learn, I decided not to rip back as I was afraid I may not re knit it. Plus I knitted it with my hand spun yarn and it was wonky looking when I started to rip back. I think it is a great pattern and I plan on knitting it the correct way. This was a valuable lesson for me to read the patterns well before I just dive in.
I ordered two new books, the Yarn Harlots newest and Artic knits. I haven’t started the Harlot’s book yet but will soon. I ordered the Artic knit book as I wanted a simple lace patterns that I could use for my hand spun yarns, I think this book fits the bill.
Finally, I think I am going through midlife crisis at 34 if that is possible. I just joined Curves to once and for all to get rid of that baby weight from having the kids. In addition, I find my self wanting to listen to music from my twenties so; the Easter Bunny brought me a new old No Doubt CD. I just love No Doubt. I can’t wait to pop it in the CD player of my SUV to take the kiddies to school. I know my daughter will probably think I am nuts. She is only five so perhaps not. She may think I am cool which isn’t saying too much coming from some one who thinks Webkinz are awesome.
Well, I guess that is it for now. Happy knitting and spinning!
