Not So Mellow Yellow

I think this roving came out really pretty. I love the color especially since we have had some pretty dull grey days lately.

I used food coloring this time instead of Kool Aid. I am going to start spinning it today.

I am not sure if I am going to knit or weave with the finished yarn.

I'm Seeing Red!

I started knitting my ankle socks using the the roving I dyed.

I am pleased with how it is knitting up. I think the coloring is pretty. I may dye more roving today. I will see how I feel.

Also, I am posting a better picture of my shawl. I don't think my last picture did it must justice.

Things are getting back to normal now. My son is back on his feet not quite running but walking fast with a limp. I really don't like to post too much about my personal life but back in March my son broke his femur. He is doing much better now and I am very happy.

In other news, I was given a 24inch Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom for Mother's Day. I really like it a lot and the size if perfect for weaving shawls.







I've been working on this shawl for about a month.

I am ok with how it turned out. I wanted it to be a bit longer but my warp tension was a bit off. So, I got feed up with it and decided to finish it off.

I dyed some roving today using Kool-aide. I like the color as I really didn't mind how it turned out as long as it didn't felt. I am hoping to start spinning this weekend. I am going to knit some socks.
